This full-time cashier/customer service position will give you the opportunity to excel in a fast-paced retail environment. A successful applicant will be able to hone their knowledge of all aspects of building materials sales, from customer service and sales to administration and logistics. Training is provided, but some computer experience is necessary. Experience in the lumber and building materials industry is recommended.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure that WBC customers and clients have the best possible retail experienceAnswer phones, provide customer service over the telephone or route calls appropriately.Fulfill sales goals as directed by the store managerMaintain clean and organized appearance of the retail facilityPlan and pace own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attend periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.Other duties may be assignedCOMPETENCIESKnowledge of company products sufficient to determine appropriate applicationsGood customer service and communications skillsAbility to work independentlyAbility to read customer orders and follow safety regulationsWorking knowledge of Windows operating systemsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSA drug test will be administered prior to employmentWORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITYThe work environment and physical activity described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
