We are seeking an individual with previous pastry experience, that would like to grow further in the Culinary field to join our team as a Pastry Chef. The Pastry Chef leads the pastry team in the productions and direction of preparing a variety of dessert for all The Resort at Paws Up. The Pastry Chef manages the pastry division and its team members.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and participate in the daily production of pastries offered at The Resort
Bake, cook, and prepare pastry items per specifications and ensure that the portion size and quality of the dishes conform to the highest standard
Maintain par stocks for all pastry items; Monitor stocks and make appropriate orders within budget
Prepare cold food and pantry items per specifications and recipes as directed
Maintain an orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Schedule staff according to volume of business; understand how to flex when necessary to meet labor expectations; ability to adjust daily operations to be in line with the budget with final approval by Executive Chef
Encourage and maintain a positive attitude and work environment
Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of Pastry team members; actively promote, train, coach, and recognize performance
Assist in the recruiting, hiring, and training and growing exceptional Pastry team members
Attend and participate all mandatory meetings and trainings
Complete all Pastry and Culinary projects as assigned
Maintain flexible hours to accommodate guest and special event needs, due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry; Position requires full availability including evenings, weekends, holidays or as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Pastry Chef
Competent in techniques of baking/pastry
1 year+ of experience in management of a team
Proven ability to lead and manage a team
Proficient ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and prioritizing workload throughout the day without sacrificing quality
Display a sense of urgency, strong attention to detail, and a desire to learn valuable Kitchen responsibilities
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge of world class hospitality and service
Has a friendly and professional manner under periods of high demands
Valid Montana Food Handlers License
Valid Drivers License with ability to meet company driving insurance policy
