We are looking for Ranch Hands to join our growing team here at Skalkaho Stables.
We are an Equine Facility that provides full care horse boarding, training, and riding lessons. We are looking for two people that could come in the mornings 2-4 days a week to help with the daily chores. These include:
Feeding horses
Mucking stalls
Sweeping and tidying the barn.
Preparing feed bags for the upcoming meals.
Leading horses to and from turn-out.
General grounds maintenance.
The core duties and minimum hours will be about 4 hours a day. Some additional hours are available through the rest of the day with miscellaneous tasks as they are needed and as they fit your abilities. Some examples are:
Fence repair
Turning the compost piles with a tractor.
Cutting and clearing dead fall
Moving wheel lines
Moving cattle to new grazing cells
Dragging fields
General machine maintenance
Grooming horses
Assisting with larger projects
No experience is necessary. We are happy to teach. That said, pay will be based on experience, and all applicants must be able to use a ladder and lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
