Edgell Building, Inc., a premier builder in Missoula, MT., is currently looking for a Residential Construction Site Superintendent.
Overview:
The Superintendent is to facilitate the correct and efficient construction of a building project by making the subcontractors and clients their number one priority, communicating with them on a regular basis, orchestrating and scheduling subcontractors, confirming and scheduling deliveries, all as cost efficiently as possible. To represent Edgell Building, Inc. as a cohesive unit on all levels in a highly professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Read specs at the initiation and throughout the process of a project and assist Project Manager (PM) with plan take-offs
All lots to be laid out and grades set. No job is to start without grade confirmation from company owners.
Contract, schedule, coordinate and manage subcontractors
Manage the construction schedule as detailed in the Policy and Procedure Manual
Purchase field materials
Give drop off instructions, check and count supply deliveries or delegate and review the information
Inspect materials, work performance and quality
Communicate with clients in such a way that they feel if they have any questions or concerns they are free to call. Additionally, Supers are required to meet with custom clients no less than once a week, or if clients are out of town to call no less than one time a week for updates and to address concerns.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by actively managing job site safety to ensure all subcontractors abide by and are aware of safety standards. Additionally, to strictly enforce safety procedures. Schedule Clean-up crew through assistance of Warranty Coordinator. All safety violations will be written up and subcontractors will be made to comply with OSHA requirements.
Be a resource to the PM whenever possible. (Provide guidance to PM on pricing, subs and suppliers as well as to provide in field design ideas on cosmetic, structural issues and timelines). Work in concert with PM in all aspects of the project.
Attend weekly job/project update meeting other than the Tuesday Staff meeting.
Be accountable to make sure each subcontractor completes or corrects all that is necessary within our schedule and in compliance with Edgell Building, Inc. Standards Manual. At the end of each element of a project, create a punch list prior to the subcontractor leaving the job.
Responsible for filling out final walk-through punch list; and coordinating subs and anyone else needed to have the home ready for the orientation with the owners before move in.
Communicate with Warranty Coordinator to complete punch list as much as possible before client moves in.
Must be confident to make the following decisions:
Handling of subcontractors
Recommending procedures and options to subcontractors
Field scheduling as detailed in the Policies and Procedures Manual
How to make the job move more efficiently
Minor plan discrepancies
Information regarding compensation and benefits will be discussed during interviews.
