Use your skills, experience, and talents to lead the development of new power supply resources, direct analytical support for the management and acquisition of generation assets, and manage power delivery to members and participants in compliance with all requirements and regulations.The Manager of Resources, Planning & Transmission supports the mission of NMPP Energy by:

Overseeing annual load forecasts for MEAN (Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska) and its participants and annual resource generation projections.

Making regular presentations to the MEAN Board of Directors and Power Supply Committee related to resource planning activities, prospective resources and resource acquisitions.

Providing the vision, initiative and oversight of the 5-year Integrated Resource Plan and Annual Progress Report for submittal to Western Area Power Administration on behalf of MEAN members.

Overseeing the analysis and preparation of business cases and analytic support for new participant communities, requests for proposals, power supply and resource acquisition proposals, and transmission requests and rollovers.

Leading the process to determine the resources to be included in MEAN-s future power portfolio. Developing new generation resources cooperatively with other interested power supply entities.

Monitoring and ensuring participation in regional working groups and committees that oversee or relate to resource and market activities related to areas of job responsibility and collaborate with others on staff to evaluate impacts to MEAN. Tracking and planning for regional reserve margins. Oversee preparation and submittal of resource adequacy reporting and modeling calculations and documents.

Leading the analysis of historical and projected resource generation, including changes in resource status or performance. Comparing to load forecasts to determine regional positions and need for short-term resource contracts

Tracking resource environmental metrics as required for compliance, resource subscriptions, and MEAN 2050 Vision.

Directing analytics support from third-party energy market manager in Portfolio Management role in cooperation with Market Operations Manager.

Monitoring developments in state and federal legislation and regulations relating to power supply and the utility industry and providing support for tracking and reporting.

Monitoring and ensuring participation in regional working groups and committees that oversee resource and market activities related to areas of job responsibility and collaborate with others on staff to evaluate impacts to MEAN.

Ensuring MEAN compliance with all transmission tariffs, contractual obligation, and RTO directives.

Overseeing the analysis and evaluation of transmission alternatives to optimize the assets in MEAN-s portfolio.

Carrying out leadership and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization-s policies and applicable laws.

Skills & Qualifications You Need

Bachelor-s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university. A combination of education and 5-7 years of relevant work experience may be considered.

Professional Engineering (PE) registration is highly desirable.

Knowledge of generating unit technology.

Demonstrated strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.

Proven leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing teams and projects.

Ability to stay updated and adapt to frequent changes in industry regulations.

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Prior experience in the wholesale electricity or utility industry is required.
