Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the Gas industry, based in OMAHA, Nebraska. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including processing invoices, maintaining departmental correspondence, and handling inquiries through the accounts payable help line. Responsibilities: Auditing employee expense reports and ensuring they comply with company policies Preparing invoices for processing and executing weekly check runs Maintaining and filing departmental correspondence and checks Answering and resolving queries on the accounts payable help line Analyzing invoices for use tax compliance Using skills such as Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Coding Invoices, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, Microsoft Excel, Oracle to perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Requirements Must have a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software (proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Excel) High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Demonstrable ability to perform account reconciliation Experience in accounts payable (AP) is required Must be skilled in check runs Knowledge of coding invoices is necessary Should have experience in invoice processing Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional attitude and strong ethical standards.
