Real Estate Accountant II

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Real Estate Accountant II in Omaha, Nebraska. This role will be primarily focused on executing various accounting and financial responsibilities within the real estate industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for tasks such as closing processes, preparation of financial reports, and maintenance of accounting records.Responsibilities: Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes efficiently. Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger as necessary. Review and ensure accuracy of monthly financial packets. Create monthly trend income statements and quarterly deck sheets. Compile monthly consolidated financials for management review. Prepare quarterly board reports and cash analysis. Oversee annual report filing, domain renewal, and various estimated tax filing. Manage internal and external escrows for insurance, real estate taxes, and process payment of real estate taxes and insurance as applicable. Assist with preparation of annual cash flow budgets upon final approval and preparation of management company budget memos. Oversee and lead preparation of state sales and use tax returns including implementation of new states as needed. Review and approve parent company invoices in procure to pay system. Assist with personal property tax filing process. Assist in updating annual calendar for the Real Estate entities to ensure no due dates or deadlines are missed. Develop, maintain, and utilize standard operating procedures and work instructions. Design and maintain spreadsheets as required for various projects. Document and organize accounting records in an effective and efficient manner. Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments. Ability to work and interact with others. Requirements A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the real estate industry. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. A strong understanding of Bank Reconciliations procedures. Experience with General Ledger management. Able to prepare and analyze Journal Entries. Familiarity with Month End Close process. Skilled in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Strong ability to conduct Financial Analysis. Experience in preparing and interpreting Financial Statements. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity and professionalism. Must be legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship.
