Lied Lodge & Conference Center in Nebraska City, NE, is a 140-room full-service hotel and meeting facility owned and operated by the Arbor Day Foundation. The ideal candidate balances a teamwork mentality with the ability to work independently on a variety of projects, from chemical testing and carpentry to preventative boiler room Maintenance and mechanical applications. Other duties will include HVAC, basic electrical, plumbing and general building repairs in a hotel, conference center and restaurant environment. The ability to respond quickly to issues while using creative problem-solving skills is essential in this role. As an active member of our Maintenance team, this individual will focus on keeping our facility in good working condition, ensuring guest satisfaction and furthering the Foundations tree-planting mission.

Responsibilities:

o React to guest needs and department requests to maintain the entire facility by performing various maintenance tasks related to a variety of trades.

o Respond to guest requests throughout the hotel to make necessary repairs and / or accommodate the guest.

o Work with all other departments to make necessary repairs to ensure a safe and secure resort.

o Maintain all inspection and log sheets to ensure proper preventative maintenance and operations are documented.

o Complete job orders pertaining to tasks such as dry wall, carpentry and painting.

o Complete minor repairs to boiler plant equipment, including any electrical or plumbing repairs to pumps and other equipment.

o Visually inspect, diagnose problems and make necessary repairs as needed.

o Maintain a clean and safe facility while performing maintenance work.

o Interact with all team members in a positive, professional manner, keeping them informed of necessary maintenance status information.

o Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and maintenance safety standards.

o Assist with a variety of special projects within the department.

Qualifications:

o Passion for the Foundations mission of tree planting and environmental stewardship.

o Prefer 2-3 years of demonstrated maintenance experience to include boiler room operations and HVAC.

o Self-directed individual with the ability to work on multiple tasks independently.

o Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization.

o Committed to teamwork and the ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

o Excellent written and oral communication skills.

o Positive outlook and attitude.

o Able to stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day.

o Able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.

o Able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

o Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.

o Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles.

Hours:

o 40 hours per week which frequently include holidays and weekends.
