The hotel offers exciting programming including 50-minute fitness classes, Kona Craft Beer, and an in-room amenity upon arrival, all complimentary to the guest.Full-TimeThe Director of VIBE is responsible for coordinating, supervising and directing all aspects of our beverage & food outlets, primarily focused on all beverage outlets and activations at the Pool Bar. She/he will lead and mentor beverage and food managers and associates with the Renaissance Ritual Experience and ensure they comply with all company SOPs and service standards; will meet or exceed all employee and guest service satisfaction goals; will market ideas to promote business; will maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and will meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high. The Director is responsible for activating all beverage and food outlets to drive revenue and profitability through game changing initiatives and activations to drive revenue. Design and compliment special events on the Pool Deck and in the Beverage & Food Outlets. He/she is expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.

Prepare the F&B budget and monitor department performance with respect to the same. Perform any necessary follow-up, including forecasting.

Monitor industry and local B&F trends, take appropriate action to maintain competitive and profitable operations.

Work with other Executive Committee members and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.

Organize and conduct department meetings on a regular basis.

Ensure timely purchase of F&B items, within budget allocation.

Oversee operations of the employee cafeteria.

Interview candidates for front-of-house F&B positions and follow standards for hiring approvals.

Employees must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.

Collaborate and approve with chefs on menu content and design.

Continually elevate our beverage program to offer fresh, local and new ideas for our guests.

Elevate the overall Pool Deck and Lobby Ritual experience to create unique offerings and guest touch points which speak to the Renaissance brand and local flavor.

Create and activate a strategic marketing campaign through social media and print for our outlets.

Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the outlets which will include labor management and beverage and food cost controls.

Supervise B&F personnel.

Conduct and/or attend all required meetings, including pre-convention and post-convention meetings and be knowledgeable of incoming groups adjusting B&F offerings to satisfy incoming guest needs.

Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.

Work with other B&F managers and keep them informed of issues as they arise.

Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.

Assist in coordinating and monitoring all phases of Loss Prevention in the outlets.

Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.

Ensure preparation of required reports, including (but not limited to) Wage Progress, payroll, revenue, employee Schedules, actions plans.

Monitor quality of service in B&F outlets.

Assist in menu planning and preparation.

Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.

Ensure compliance with SOP’s in all outlets.

Ensure compliance with requisition procedures.

Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed during each meal period.

Conduct staff performance reviews in accordance with Highgate Hotel standards.

Understand, implement and monitor corporate promotions in outlet (if applicable), including buffet and three-meal concept standards.

Ensure the training of employees on SOP’s and technical job tasks.

Be involved in and/or conduct departmental and hotel training as required, etc.

Interview candidates for front-of-house B&F positions and follow standards for hiring approvals.

Complete tip reporting.

Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees

At least 5 to 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; previous hotel experience preferred. or a 4-year college degree and at least 3 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 4 or more years of related experience.

Must have experience leading a high volume restaurant operation with experience in beverage sale and promotion.

Must have proven track record of success in Guest Service Scores with the ability to quickly respond to emerging trends while leveraging social media and partnering with marketing team to drive increased destination traffic to the property.

Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.

Must have knowledge of B&F preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.

Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.

Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.

Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.

Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.

Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.

Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags.

Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.

Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Long hours sometimes required.

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
