Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing CNC toolpaths, operating CNC mills and routers, and contributing to the fabrication of precision components for our luxury travel trailers. You will work closely with a small, tight-knit team, where adaptability, problem-solving, and strong communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CAM Programming: Create accurate and efficient CNC toolpaths from CAD files using industry-standard software (e.g., Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor).
2. CNC Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain CNC mills and routers to produce high-quality parts according to design specifications.
3. Fabrication & Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure they meet design tolerances and quality standards.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with the team to optimize designs for manufacturability and ensure seamless integration into the production process.
5. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues to ensure smooth production.
6. Efficiency & Optimization: Continuously seek ways to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency in manufacturing.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: 3+ years of experience in CNC programming and machining (startup or small-team experience is a plus).
2. Technical Skills: Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, Inventor) and CNC machine operation. Strong understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and materials.
3. Attention to Detail: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files accurately.
4. Problem Solving: Creative thinker with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently and within a team.
5. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with a small team.
6. Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities can shift, and flexibility is key.
7. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as stand for extended periods during machine operation.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with aluminum, composites, and other materials commonly used in trailer manufacturing.
2. Familiarity with high-performance manufacturing for the automotive, aerospace, or RV industries.
3. Interest in sustainability and innovative product design.
