The incumbent will support the Agency's long-range programmatic planning for the safe disposal of low-level radioactive waste (LLRW) at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). The Environmental Scientist will monitor current state planning priorities such as forecasting and verifying LLRW from each of the 25 Dept. of Energy waste generators that ship LLRW to the NNSS for disposal; observing/ overseeing enhanced waste verification at DOE sites throughout the USA; reviewing waste stream profiles; tracking waste streams, and engaging with stakeholders.
