This recruitment will be used to underfill a Professional Engineer. This position reviews permit applications, engineering reports, proposals and plans for activities and operations subject to State and Federal regulations governing wastewater treatment, solid and hazardous waste management, and site remediation; determines if facilities utilize sound engineering practices; develops permit conditions; and prepares draft reports that conform to State and Federal water and waste regulations and defend recommendations in public hearings. The position will oversee and perform field investigations and inspections of wastewater treatment facilities, industrial operations, solid and hazardous waste management facilities and remediation sites; collect samples, analyze data and prepare reports for agency and public review; collect and perform quality assurance and control functions on data for reports and studies designed to monitor air and water quality; review corrective action plans for compliance with established remediation standards; and recommend enforcement action for permit and law violations.
