Part Time Medical Assistant (MA), MNA or LPN for office that serves mental health patients
15-20 hours weekly
Skills required:
Excellent computer skills are a necessity, including the ability to use MS Office 265, Word, basic Excel tasks, Outlook email
Detail oriented and organized
Excellent customer service skills, particularly on the phone
Fairly adept and quick at learning varied computer apps and software, such as using VOIP software for phone system, which allows reading of incoming messages. Ability to fluidly use several different software programs in the course of your day
Thorough understanding of healthcare privacy and HPPA and (with training) ability to understand and assimilate changes in health care law and implement them in your daily practice
Scheduling and rescheduling patients
Phone screening potential incoming patients, processing intake forms
Updating charts, uploading documents to charts
Using fax machine and copier
Basic understanding of medical insurance including Medicare and Medicaid, primary and secondary insurance, and third-party pharmacy benefit managers
Working in EMR/EHR to read medication lists, add messages to chart, add documents to charts
Processing refill requests
Ability to respond to medical records requests, applying knowledge of HPPA law and training we will provide. This often involves mailing or faxing out a form letter.
Taking vital signs
Completing prior authorizations for medication
Ability to write a properly formatted business letter using our templates
Processing payments using EMR or in-house terminal
Qualifications: We seek a dependable individual with a consistent work history, a person who is able to work independently and also able to prioritize tasks and be efficient with their time.
Our office is fairly quiet, not a fast paced environment; you will be able to some degree to control your own workflow. Office location can be either in Bedford or Concord.
Physical requirements: able to sit at desk and use computer or phones for up to 8 hours daily, ability to take vital signs.
