Assistant Operations Manager
Full time, 40-50+ hours per week position. $52,000 - $65,000 per year plus incentives.
PTO and year-end bonus
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an assistant operations manager, you will assist the operations manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating the operations of a business or organization. Your duties will include implementing and monitoring policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and quality, as well as supervising and training staff, managing budgets, inventory, and resources, and liaising with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. You will also be responsible for identifying and resolving problems, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Additionally, you will be expected to provide feedback to staff, report on performance and progress, ensure customer satisfaction and compliance, and support the operations manager in developing and executing strategic plans and goals.
Day to Day:
Meeting in the morning with team members to review jobs for the day
Helping team members get trucks and equipment set up for a successful day
Meeting with Operation Manager to review daily and weekly details
Meeting teams in the field/job sites to maintain a level of quality work
Assist Crew Leaders with problem solving and maintenance needs
Picking up and making material and equipment deliveries
Ensuring client’s 100% satisfaction within the field/job site
Meeting with teams at the end of the day to review jobs
Set an example while working day to day in the field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
As an assistant operations manager, it is essential to have a diverse set of skills and abilities to perform effectively. This includes leadership and management skills to motivate and guide staff, as well as communication and interpersonal skills to interact with different people and handle conflicts. Additionally, analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for evaluating data and making decisions. Time management skills are also required to prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks. Attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, creativity, and innovation are also important for ensuring quality and compliance, as well as finding solutions and improving processes.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum five years experience in the landscape industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position. Valid Operator’s license required with a clean driving record.
