Hiring - Guardrail Installer - CWS Fence & Guardrail

Position Summary:

The Guardrail Installer is responsible for safely handling and installing all the materials required for the installation of guardrail, bridge rails and fence on public roads and private sites. The position requires active labor, handling materials and working as part of the guardrail installation crew on the construction site throughout the day.

Daily activities include loading and unloading materials on a flatbed truck and/or trailer by hand, digging holes, using power tools and assembling guardrails. The Guardrail Installer must have the ability to lift 100 lbs., stay on their feet all day, and be able to follow instructions and adapt to constantly changing situations in a fast-paced highway work zone environment.

The work schedule is seasonal, typically running from March through December, or until the ground freezes/thaws. During the season, a 40-60 hour work week will be performed Monday through Friday, rain or shine, with occasional night or Saturday work if required. A night work bonus will be paid for any required night work and many jobs are subject to prevailing wage.

Essential Job Functions:

Load / unload materials and equipment, dig and set posts, assemble guardrail and bridge rails.

Work at the direction of the Installation Crew Supervisor, including moving and relocating equipment, handling materials, and performing general duties associated with the project.

Safely work within highway lane closures and other busy job sites.

Experience/Qualifications:

Proven experience in highway construction or similar role is preferred

Self-starter with sound judgment, positive attitude, takes initiative, and adapts to changing work environment

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 100 pounds as required throughout the workday.

Bending, squatting, climbing, standing for long periods of time.

Ability to grasp, discern color, be capable of using tools and equipment properly.

Must be able to maneuver in and out of vehicles safely.
