This is a hands on position where the ideal candidate would be able to manage a busy Meals on Wheels site, overseeing four home delivery routes in the Seabrook area, and a seasonal Senior Dining Program This position is Monday - Friday and hours are approximately 7:30AM - 2:00PM.
A brief overview: Your day will start off with a delivery of food from our caterer. Everything is already cooked and prepared when it arrives at your site, you and your team just need to package everything up and get it ready to deliver. Then the meal delivery drivers pack their bags and head out to deliver meals. Your assistant and volunteers clean up and get thing ready for the next day. As manager, you will make sure safe food handling practices are being followed. You will have a weekly food order to complete. Contact clients and fill out client intakes and other needed paperwork to submit to the office. Attend monthly meetings. Perform home visits to assess client’s needs. Enter client data into system and set up meal schedule. Make weekly deposits, submit bi-weekly payroll and run reports. You also need to make sure the delivery routes are efficient and staff are following proper procedures. Make sure your staff are informed of day to day changes and follow up on emails and referrals in a timely manner.
Previous food service and management experience is desired. Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation procedures (ServSafe) a plus, but will train. Must be proficient with Microsoft platform programs. This position requires good managerial skills and the ability to multi-task. You will be spending much of your time at a desk and will also be spending time in the kitchen each day working with your staff to get meals ready to deliver or to serve. You may also be required to deliver meals if you are short staffed. Some lifting involved, approximately 35 lbs. Must have the ability to bend or kneel while working in the kitchen. Experience working with seniors and in food service are desired but not required. Driving and Criminal record checks will be performed.
