We are seeking a Data Engineering Team Leader to join our Sydney team and take ownership of the strategic direction and delivery of the Lendi Group Data Platform.The ideal candidate is an experienced technical leader with strong expertise in data architecture, data modelling, analytics engineering, and cloud-native data platforms. You will lead the evolution of our data ecosystem, drive engineering best practices, and support scalable data and AI capabilities across the business.You will:Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Data Engineering team through coaching, accountability, and a strong engineering culture.Drive delivery of scalable data products and modern platform capabilities aligned to business and AI transformation goals.Design and implement scalable warehouse and lakehouse data models, transformation frameworks, and migration-safe data solutions using tools such as dbt.Own end-to-end development of cloud-native data pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and data platforms across Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Airflow, and modern ingestion tooling.Guide architecture, engineering standards, and delivery practices across ingestion, transformation, migration, modelling, testing, and platform operationsPartner with stakeholders to translate business problems into clear, prioritised, and executable engineering outcomesEstablish governance guardrails across ownership, data quality, security, cost optimisation, and operational support models.Drive platform reliability, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code, and secure-by-design engineering practices.Support AI-native reporting, agentic systems, and advanced data enablement through scalable integration patterns and trusted datasets.Champion documentation, lineage, monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement across the platform.
