Technical Writer

ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This role will make an impact by meeting the future needs of our FAA customer that includes securing data across networks in the enterprise.

FNS team needs to provide FNS first level documentation and provide recommendations and new documentation to FNS first level support. Documentation includes technical instruction books, notices, handbook, and other technical directives.

Works independently with limited supervision. Provides expertise in first level maintenance documentation requirements analysis and development of technical documentation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Possess a technical understanding of the maintenance of NAS systems

Review technical documentation and provide recommendations for improvements

Track and audit documentation redlines

Support system development/testing/integration/deployment activities

Develop and manage system engineering artifacts; system requirements artifacts; system testing artifacts; required product baseline artifacts

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Must be willing to travel

Full-time position, standard work hours, no specified job duration

On-site at the FAA WJHTC

Requirements :Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Associates degree and ten (10) years of related work experience.OR Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience

Experience in developing NAS technical documentation

Experience with NAS second level engineering

Proficient technical writing and oral communication skills

Preferred

Experience in system testing

Analytical and problem-solving ability

Security:

US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US

Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years

Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust
