The Financial Analyst's responsibilities will include providing daily support to the accounting and finance departments, as well as completing routine assignments and solving routine/standard problems with limited discretion. Play a part in the groundwork of monthly financial reporting and other business data
Inspect final results at the corporate and division levels
Comfortable assisting internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
Help out with monitoring and maintaining internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Construct clever alternatives and suggestions to reduce costs and nurture financial performance of a company
Cooperate on a large number of aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)
Investigate and query substantial amounts of data
Periodically demonstrate difficult financial subjects to non-financial staff members in special projects
Help in annual budgeting process
Have a hand in ensuring adequate controls and procedures
Strengthen and evaluate budgets and income statement forecasts
Requirements - Less than one year of experience is acceptable
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
Competent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Command of Microsoft Excel
Corporate finance experience
Foundational knowledge in corporate finance
Ad Hoc Financial Analysis experience
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
