We are looking for a Windows System Administrator to join the growing team at our local government client in western NJ. The System Administrator will maintain, upgrade, and manage software, hardware, and network infrastructures. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The ideal System Administrator should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly, communicate effectively and make sure client technology infrastructures runs smoothly and efficiently.
Experience with the following:
3-5 years of experience providing day to day administrative support for all users, both onsite and remote
Windows 2012 / 2019; Active Directory regarding on-boarding/off-boarding employees; Office / O365, SharePoint and OneDrive
Maintain Office / O365 mailboxes for the company and troubleshoot issues as needed
Provide basic support for Azure Virtual Desktops for remote users
Setup new desktops and related software for new and existing users
Be able to perform back-ups
Address basic performance issues; know how to use the perfmon function
Be able to turn auditing on a Windows server
Assist users with basic SQL issues and day-to-day support
Client is utilizing Microsoft's System Center - you should be able to read log files, Event Viewer and command line utilities.
Some understanding of SQL - enough to understand requirements and/or configuration of a connection string (hostname and port used).
A basic understanding of TCP/IP; i.e., you should be able to get a clients IP address.
You should also understand how to connect to network shares and effects of permission settings and be able to troubleshoot.
Deploy software, run updates
Knowledge of PowerShell would be a big plus
Windows An MCSE would be helpful.
