The Director of Public Safety is responsible for the execution of security and coordination of emergency management activities for the division. The Director leads the overall management of day-to-day security operations, including the supervision of personnel. Responsible for the implementation of the Security, management policies, plans and programs in compliance with standards set by The Joint Commission and other applicable regulations. Maintains readiness of the campus security operations and, as necessary, serves as a member of the Incident Management Team.Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.Recommends solutions or appropriate course of action regarding safety, accident prevention, security, and emergency management measures to reduce risk for the organization.Coordinates emergency management exercises with regional partners and completes a post-action report for all exercises and events, providing recommendations for improvement.Determines standards and conformity of practice in relationship with OSHA, TJC, DOH, FEMA, and other federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines in order to maintain compliance.Maintains liaison and cooperates with local township police, fire and emergency management/response departments, the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS).Works cooperatively with Plant Operations, Risk Management, Staff Development, Human Resources, Employee Health, and other departments to assure safety and security regulations are being followed, and provide input furtherance of safety and security programs.Conducts hazard surveillance inspection tours and hazard vulnerability analyses; prepares reports to identify existing hazards and assure preventive and corrective measures are imposed.Provides new employee orientation and continuing training on Environment of Care and Emergency Management topics. Conducts test item analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, security, and emergency management training.RequirementsBachelorrsquo;s Degree in Safety, Healthcare or related field required.Masterrsquo;s degree preferred.Minimum of 5-10 yearsrsquo; experience in proprietary Security, Emergency Management or Disaster Preparedness field, preferably in a healthcare environment.Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
