Looking for a tax preparer with at least 3 years of experience preparing returns for individuals and small businesses. Practice has very few overly simple tax returns, so an interest in learning (and an ability to grasp complex topics) is key. Clients may be in any state of the country, and common topics will include multistate allocation, employer-based stock compensation, rental properties, foreign currency translation, and Roth conversions. Not every return will be tough, but there will be complexities on a regular basis. Ideally, candidate can be comfortable doing some client-facing appointments, but most of the job will be "back office".
Must have a PTIN and be credentialed (or on path towards it).
This is a good job for someone who has a natural knack for taxes. While the job is in-person only, some flexibility can be offered in creating your routine. Ideal for those who are looking for midday into evening hours.
20-25 hours per week, over 3 days or 4 days of the week.
Can include 1 weekend day starting mid February
Hours for shifts 10:30AM-8PM.
Admin work is shared by all employees, so must be willing to answer phones and have good verbal and written communication skills. Being comfortable using software and computerized tools is also important.
Office includes parking and access to fridge/ microwave/ toaster oven, etc for needed breaks. Can also walk to numerous food establishments very easily.
