An assistant manager/ catering manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of catered events, including menu development, staff scheduling, budget management, client consultations, food preparation, and ensuring smooth execution of events while adhering to food safety regulations and client expectations; essentially acting as the point person for all catering operations at an event.Will also be expected to assist Management with in-store operations when needed.
Key responsibilities of a catering manager:
Client consultation: Meeting with clients to understand their event needs, dietary restrictions, budget, and desired menu options. Menu planning: Designing creative and customized menus based on client requirements, including food selection, portion sizes, and pricing. Staff management: Hiring, training, and scheduling catering staff including servers, cooks, and bartenders for each event. Budget control: Managing event costs by negotiating event contracts, monitoring food and beverage inventory, and staying within budget constraints. Logistics coordination: Arranging event setup, transportation, equipment rentals, and necessary supplies for off-site catering. Quality control: Ensuring food quality, presentation, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. Event execution: Supervising staff during events, managing any issues that arise, and ensuring smooth service delivery. Post-event operations: Reviewing event feedback, handling invoices, and managing any necessary clean-up procedures. Required skills and qualifications:
