Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Quality Assurance Assistant to support the QA department in a manufacturing setting. This role involves maintaining quality standards, conducting inspections, documenting findings, and supporting administrative operations related to quality systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in a production environment and possess strong administrative and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control Duties
Assist in conducting incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and finished products.
Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and report any non-conformances.
Help track and maintain calibration records for equipment.
Support internal audits and follow up on corrective actions as directed by QA management.
Ensure proper documentation of inspection and test results.
Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate and organized records of quality reports, batch records, inspection checklists, and quality logs to ensure compliance with regulations.
Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials as needed.
Coordinate scheduling and documentation for training, audits, and inspections to ensure seamless execution.
Manage and file QA documentation (electronic and hard copies) in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Provide administrative support to the QA team, including maintaining meeting minutes, managing the calendar, and handling departmental correspondence.
Cross-Departmental Support
Liaise with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout all stages of manufacturing.
Communicate clearly and professionally with vendors and suppliers when quality issues arise.
Help facilitate customer complaint investigations and reporting.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; knowledge of GMP and Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Management, Business Administration, or a technical discipline) preferred.
1–3 years of experience in quality assurance or administrative roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems is a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ERP or QMS software is a plus.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs during inspections.
Occasional work in production areas that may be noisy or require PPE.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Experience with data entry, reporting, and spreadsheet analysis.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus depending on location.
