Responsibilities
The Parts Clerk’s primary role is creating and maintaining a strong relationship between the company and the customer.
· Able to handle customer phone inquiries for parts in a diplomatic, friendly, and business-like manner.
· Ability to pick, pack, and ship parts accurately and in a timely manner.
· Deliver parts as required (customer locations and Vessel deliveries).
· Handles all types of customer parts phone inquiries in a diplomatic, friendly and businesslike manner
· Ability to pick, pack, and ship parts in a timely and accurate manner (must be able to lift 50 lbs.)
· Performs daily, weekly, and monthly inspections
· Controls, documents and implements safety programs
· Accurately invoice customers
· Manages the purchase order process and complies with all corporate policies and procedures
· Maintains customer order records for on-time processing, shipping, and billing
· Monitors and acknowledges customer transactions with appropriate documentation
· Enters appropriate inventory information into the computer in a timely and accurate manner
· Delivers parts as necessary (including to vessels)
· Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education
· Should be computer literate familiar with Microsoft software
· Energetic and customer driven
· Good organizational skills
· 6 months previous parts experience preferred
· Effective verbal and written communications
· Courteous customer communication skills
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Previous experience driving company vehicle and forklift a plus
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Hours M-F 8AM-1PM with some weekend work as required.
· Must have a clean license with no tickets or accidents in the last 3 years.
· Must be able to pass a Homeland security background check (TWIC card is required to enter the port areas).
