HVAC/refrigeration technician

Primarily responsible for performing installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of

equipment including: refrigeration, basic knowledge on ice making equipment and Glycol Systems for Beer.

Know hot to troubleshoot and repair air Conditioning, equipment, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, light

commercial furnaces, intake and exhaust fans, economizers and humidifiers.

Responsibilities:

Install, repair, adjust, maintain and troubleshoot the following equipment:

o Refrigerant controls (metering devices) - mechanical & electronic

o Hermetic, Scroll, Discuss compressors

o Heat Pumps to 15-ton

o Split systems to 15-ton

o Packaged units to 15-ton

o Ductless splits up to 5-Ton

o Electric Motors (3-phase and 1-phase) 208 volt & 460 volt

o Electric motor controls (contactors, starters, relays, disconnect, thermostats,

etc.)

o Light commercial furnaces, boilers, burners and related controls (oil and gas)

o Various types of water pumps & inline booster pumps for cooling towers

o Intake and exhaust fans with actuator driven motors

o Unit heaters (hot water, steam and electric)

o Economizers - Indoor Package and Outdoor Package Units

o Humidifiers

Proficiently perform the following tasks:

o Soldering

o Brazing

o Basic heat load calculations

o Basic heat loss calculations

Check in with office for scheduled jobs after the completion of each job and at the end

of each work day.

Check in with client at the beginning and end of each task.

During and/or at the end of each task complete all company provided forms.

Assist on job sites with other company technicians as needed.

Check in as needed with office dispatcher and/or field supervisor.

Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required.

Call in repairs to the estimator or field supervisor and provide the necessary info

needed to quote the repair, and fill out the appropriate quote forms as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have an Apprentice License and (Environment Protection Agency) EPA

Certification and at least five (5) Years of trade-related work experience, or

Any similar combination of education and experience.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to maintain and operate company vehicle.

OSHA 30 - the Occupational Safety and Health Administration- Government Agency

SST 40 - Safety Site Training Includes (8) hours of Fall Protection (2) Hours of Drug &

Alcohol Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
