Our 6,400 square foot shop has 9 working lifts and we are looking for a skilled Auto Mechanic / Technician to join our team to maintain, repair and sometimes restore vehicles. Our main goal at TAB is simply to FIX the customer's concern. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality. An excellent auto mechanic can efficiently diagnose and repair vehicles without needing the help of others. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must be good communicators and respectful to management and their peers.
Responsibilities
-Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
-Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
-Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
-Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise management on concerns that may need to be addressed in the future.
-Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks, worn components, etc.)
-Remove and Replace key drivetrain components efficiently such as Transmissions, Transfer Cases, Differentials, Engines.
-Keep logs on work and issues
-Maintain shop equipment and tools in good condition. (e.g. keep lifts, jacks, benches, etc. in clean and good working order.
Skills
-Prideful in the work they deliver and eagerness to grow in their career.
-Proven experience as auto mechanic
-Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
-Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
-Ability to handle various tools (e.g. wrenches, diagnostic tools, A/C machine, jack stands, etc.) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift, tire machine, gantry)
-Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
-Excellent physical condition to handle any automotive repair task.
-High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
-Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $45.00 per hour
