Job Title: Chemist Job DescriptionThe Chemist position is responsible for performing routine laboratory procedures in a quality control laboratory under general supervision. The role requires familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and techniques, focusing on less complex testing and support functions.Responsibilities
Perform routine testing of samples according to established procedures.
Independently operate instruments and apparatus, and prepare solutions, suspensions, and media for essential laboratory procedures.
Record data, perform calculations, evaluate and report results, and conduct peer review of data while keeping management informed of progress.
Follow all Data Integrity guidelines, Good Laboratory Practices, and Good Documentation Practices.
Prioritize workload and meet scheduled timelines.
Inform management of equipment and supply needs to avoid delays in testing.
Comply with all testing procedures, operating procedures, GMPs, and safety and health requirements.
Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
Practice safe handling of hazardous materials and waste using proper techniques.
Handle hazardous waste management as required, if qualified.
Conduct laboratory investigations as needed.
Periodically perform duties of a higher position for training and development purposes.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned based on business needs or management decisions.
