Specialist - Maintenance (Open Pit Workshop)

Our Macraes Open Pit Workshop is looking for a Specialist focused on engineering projects. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this role will work to own and optimise all engineering related repairs and projects in the Open Pit Workshop and liaise with contractors, to plan and scope repair processes on the mobile equipment.

9-day fortnight roster - 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 7:00am - 4:30pm. Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesProduction/OperationalSupervises Engineering personnel in performance of their duties and to maintain a high standard of safety and work quality.Documenting and maintaining optimum wear package designs to all wear & special items within Sharepoint.Providing high quality complete work scopes for all repairs and refurbishments to wear and special items.Auditing and quality control of routine inspections, monitor and record the condition of ground engaging tooling (G.E.T) and wear package materials providing feedback and recommendations into GET selection and wear package materials.Maintain high levels of housekeeping in engineering workshop and all other facilities, equipment and company vehicles to a high standard.Identify, materials and other resources required to complete allocated tasks following work management process in order to generate actionable workorders.Record and report usage of all components, parts and other resources on work-order job cards.Carry out general welding repairs and light fabrication work on mining machinery and other plant and equipment as required.Monitor and record wear rates of wear package materials on buckets, blades and bodies/Trays to forecast repair or replacement options.Complete engineer’s reports and maintenance checks on mining equipment during PM maintenance and report scope of works to planning department for execution of work.Attend weekly planning meetings and provide relative information and resources for the planner.Assess, plan and supervise engineering projects to be completed by OGL Boilermakers and contractors.Ensure planned maintenance and inspections of the site facilities, tooling and other workshop equipment is completed and any non-conformances actioned.Follow and Align with the AMF AM10 work flow management.
