Description Our client is a well-established law firm representing clients in patent, trademark and licensing matters relating to pharmaceuticals, chemicals, biotechnology, and medical and consumer devices and products.Their clients range from multinational pharmaceutical and consumer product companies to start-up companies and their investors.About the role: Responsibilities of the Intellectual Property Docket Clerk/Paralegal include, but are not limited to:· Review and calendar all intellectual property correspondence upon receipt· Enter new matters and applications in the Intellectual Property docketing software· Accurately docket USPTO and foreign trademark mail in docketing system according to established procedures· Generate and monitor daily docket of deadlines and ensure that deadlines are met and system is properly updated· Review incoming and outgoing emails/faxes/mail and update docketing systems as necessary· Docket incoming trademark prosecution, infringement and related intellectual property correspondence /deadlines received from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, international intellectual property offices and foreign law firms· Docket all outgoing trademark correspondence; correspond directly with business partners, intellectual property vendors, and foreign law firms· Monitor closures and perform docket system clean-up of related entries as appropriate· Conduct periodic status checks and participate in docket audits using government websites and communication to international agents· Maintain current knowledge of relevant and applicable Intellectual Property law, rules and proceduresRequirements Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience· Prior Intellectual Property docket clerk experience required in a law firm or corporate legal department environment (minimum 5 years) – flexible if under 2 years; patents would be best.· Familiarity with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rules and the trademark lifecycle· Strong understanding of international trademark law and procedureKnowledge and Skills:· Experience with CPA Memotech or equivalent rules-based intellectual property docketing software such as WEBTMS, CPI, PATTSY etc.· Experience in trademark prosecution, trademark opposition, cancellation enforcement, domain name enforcement and copyright law preferred· Computer proficient with familiarity of various database systems, including: Outlook, MS Word, and other third party internal firm databases· Maintain a high level of attention to detail and organization in all aspects of the position· Must be a self-starter and able to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
