Position Status Full Time Posting Number 24FA0121 Posting Open Date 02/01/2024 Posting Close Date 05/31/2024 Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Candidate Requirements:Board-certified in NeurosurgeryPreference is given to Spine fellowship-trainedNJ licensed or eligible for licensure Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Provide clinical leadership direction for the clinical, training, education, and research activities of the Department of Neurosurgery with continued efforts of developing a strong national reputation.2. Participate in General Neurosurgery call in equal frequency and location as other faculty in the department3. Educate and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students.4. Further develop and maintain Rutgers Tumor Board in collaboration with CINJ.5. Must be sensitive, compassionate and communicate effortlessly to a diverse group of patients and their families.6. Must be Up-to-date with new discoveries in neurosurgery techniques, collaborate with postdoctoral fellows in publishing of medical journals7. Must have excellent presentation skills. [Must be able to present in department meetings, academic seminars and conferences.]8. Must contribute to clinical, research, service and education to the academic institution9. Be an active member of the medical community10. Have excellent analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills11. Being able to communicate with all levels in the hospital/ organization12. Other duties as determined by the Chair in support of the Department of Neurosurgery.13. The Neurosurgeon position will be required to maintain an academic effort that is consistent with that of an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery.14. As with our entire faculty, the clinicians will be expected to spend at least 4 hours a week involved with various academic or administrative interest.
