Tax Preparer (Full Time Permanent) & (Full Time/Part Time Seasonal 2025)
We are a small accounting office in Northern New Jersey looking for an experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic bi-lingual (SPANISH A MUST) individual to assist in a variety of tax related activities, while working in a casual and friendly atmosphere. The applicant should be willing to work extended hours including Saturdays thru the end of April 2025.
Responsibilities
- Deliver an outstanding client experience by creating a warm and welcoming first and last impression to all clients.
- Interviewing individuals and preparing federal and state tax returns using a high degree of ethics and integrity.
- Provide tax advice and effectively demonstrate expertise to clients.
- Ensure client confidentiality and privacy due to access and regularly working with information of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
- Furnishes taxpayers with sufficient information and advice to ensure correct tax form completion.
- Consults tax law reference materials to determine procedures for preparation of tax returns when needed.
- Audit all tax return forms for accuracy and completeness (i.e., client signatures).
- Follow up and contacts clients for additional information, as necessary, to insure accurate and timely completion of tax returns.
- Assisting with General Accounting, Bookkeeping Services.
- Preparation of Payroll & Sales Tax Returns.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements, Skills and Experience
- High School Degree or equivalent related business experience. Course of study in tax preparation and/or accounting preferred.
- At least one year of individual tax experience in preparing/filing federal and state tax returns a MUST.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and customer services skills and the ability to effectively communicate in person.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
