A Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing laundry efficiently and to high standards, ensuring all items are cleaned, dried, folded, and stored correctly. This role requires operating various laundry machines, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and following all safety and sanitation procedures.
Responsibilities
Sort, wash, dry, and fold a variety of laundry items (e.g., linens, towels, garments) according to company or client standards.
Operate and monitor washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment, reporting any malfunctions to a supervisor.
Inspect items for stains, tears, or damage and treat them appropriately.
Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, including cleaning equipment and floors.
Monitor and restock laundry supplies (e.g., detergents, chemicals).
Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including the proper handling of chemicals.
Handle guest or customer requests and complaints related to laundry services professionally.
Assist with additional duties, such as ironing, pressing, or inventory management, as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is often preferred.
Ability to operate industrial washing and drying machines.
Strong attention to detail for identifying and treating stains, and for folding and storing items correctly.
Good time management skills to meet deadlines.
Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy bags or loads of laundry.
Basic knowledge of different fabric types and their care requirements.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must drive and be willing to do pickups and deliveries. Must be willing to go out and market the business and promotions we have going.
