We are looking for someone to care for our adult son who has Autism. He's non-verbal and absolutely NON-aggressive. He is physically quite strong so will NOT have to be lifted, carried, or pulled from or into vehicles, stairs, etc. He is loving and gentle but also high energy and requires close attention to keep him from getting into things. We are looking for someone who's down-to-earth, patient and trustworthy. His needs are hygiene (showering, teeth brushing, wiping after bowel movements), general supervision, dressing, feeding, and being kept active during the day. The latter would include walking around the block or at the park on nice days, trips to Skyzone, etc. The hours are from Monday to Friday 6:00am to 8:00am and also in the afternoons at 2:30pm to 6:00pm. Those will be the only hours required, but there will be occasional opportunities for additional hours such as when his day program is closed or we need someone to look after him. The ideal applicant will be generally available all 5 days, but if you are interested in the position and only available some days (e.g. Monday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Friday), do still reach out as we may be able to coordinate a schedule with our current caretaker.
