About the Role: As a Tutor for Adults with Disabilities, you will play a key role in supporting adults, especially those with autism, in their learning journey. This part-time position offers a competitive rate of $35.00 per hour with bi-weekly pay. There is also potential for this role to grow into a full-time position as our services expand. Spanish-speaking applicants are encouraged to apply, though this is not a requirement.
Responsibilities:
Custom Lesson Planning: Create and implement tailored lesson plans that meet each client’s individual needs and goals.
Client Interaction: Engage directly with adults with disabilities, fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Subject Expertise: Provide tutoring in various subjects, including math, science, reading, and writing, as well as life skills, social skills, and more.
Travel: Be prepared to travel to clients' homes throughout New Jersey for in-person sessions.

Qualifications:
Educational Background: A degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience: At least 1 year of tutoring experience; prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, especially autism, is highly valued.
Compassion and Communication: Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and an understanding approach in working with diverse clients, especially those with special needs.
Personality Traits: Outgoing, friendly, and capable of building positive relationships with clients.
Self-Motivation: Able to work independently, proactively creating and adapting lesson plans as needed.
Bilingual: Spanish-speaking ability is a plus but not required.
