About the Opportunity
A new fast-casual restaurant specializing in burgers, chicken, and shakes is seeking an experienced Consulting Chef to guide the development of our menu and kitchen operations. This role is ideal for a chef with a strong background in building crave-worthy comfort food concepts that balance quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Partner with ownership to establish the culinary identity for burgers, chicken sandwiches, tenders, fries, shakes, and related items.
Develop, test, and refine recipes with a focus on flavor, consistency, and scalability.
Design kitchen workflows and advise on equipment selection to maximize efficiency for a high-volume, fast-casual environment.
Standardize recipes, portion sizes, and preparation methods to ensure cost control and consistent execution.
Create systems for food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance in line with local health regulations.
Train kitchen staff on proper preparation, cooking techniques, and station setup.
Provide input on vendor selection and sourcing for proteins, dairy, produce, and packaging.
Offer ongoing consulting during pre-opening and initial launch to ensure a smooth rollout.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Culinary Director, or Consulting Chef within fast-casual, QSR, or comfort food concepts.
Expertise in burgers, chicken, and/or similar menu categories.
Strong understanding of food cost management, portioning, and scalable systems.
Creative, hands-on approach with the ability to design both signature items and operational standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-training skills.
Engagement
This is a consulting role, structured as a project-based engagement during the menu development and opening phase, with potential for ongoing advisory work.
