Job Summary:
The Pizzeria Counter Person is responsible for providing exceptional customer service at the front counter, taking orders accurately, processing payments, and ensuring customers have a positive experience. This role also involves maintaining a clean and organized work area, coordinating with kitchen staff, and assisting with basic food prep as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and assist them with menu selections
Take customer orders accurately in person and over the phone
Operate POS (point-of-sale) system to process cash, credit, or mobile payments
Answer customer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and specials
Communicate orders clearly to kitchen staff
Ensure timely pick-up or delivery coordination
Package pizzas and other menu items for takeout or delivery
Keep the front counter, dining area, and beverage stations clean and stocked
Assist with restocking supplies and maintaining inventory as needed
Follow all health, safety, and food handling guidelines
Qualifications:
Prior customer service or food service experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills and familiarity with cash handling
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Work Environment:
Fast-paced pizzeria setting
May require standing for long periods
Some lifting of supplies or food items (up to 25 lbs)
