Job Summary:
At Home Companions is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to join our team in Hackensack, New Jersey. This is a full-time, hourly position in the healthcare/medical field, providing supportive in-home care for a female client in her home. The hours are 8:30am-2:30 Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 9am-5pm Tuesday and Thursday. The CHHA will be responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living and helping to improve their overall quality of life.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, hourly position with a competitive compensation package of $18 to $20 per hour, paid biweekly.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and quality care to clients in their homes, under the direction of a registered nurse
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition to the nurse or supervisor
- Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management
- Assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and light housekeeping tasks
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of daily activities and services provided
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare team members
- Attend ongoing training and development programs as required by the agency
- Provide transportation to appoinments, shopping and errands
Requirements:
- Must be a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) in the state of New Jersey
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a home health agency or related healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow direction and work independently
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic towards clients
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
