Scion Staffing (www.scionstaffing.com) is conducting the search for our clients on-site Pathology Lab Manager. This full-time position is for immediate hire and operates from our clients West Orange, New Jersey office.

Position Summary:

With practices located in multiple states, our client offers a unique multi-disciplinary approach to their practice which incorporates clinical expertise and state-of-the-art technology with individualized patient care. Their team of medical providers and dedicated support staff offer comprehensive solutions for both clinical and cosmetic dermatology issues.Â

Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Regional Director, youll manage a team which plays an integral role in supporting practice operations and the growth of the company!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Â

Outreach Operations:

Manages daily operation of activities associated with Histology sections of the laboratory.

Ensures superior customer service and timely service recovery when appropriate and develop metrics to determine levels of service and areas for performance improvement.

Ensures prompt delivery of high quality histologically prepared slides and stains. Collaborates with pathologists to assure smooth workflow.

Manages Pathology Assistants daily activities and assigned functions in collaboration with Chief Pathologist and other applicable department leadership.

Ensures available, adequate and reliable expertise exists within each functional area to maintain Best Practice and Standard of Care for applicable services.

Collaborates with other laboratory and practice leadership to assure smooth processes and superior patient care.

Ensures compliance, within areas of responsibility, of standards set forth by government agencies, JCI and other appropriate regulatory agencies.

Conducts departmental meetings and assures appropriate departmental communication.

Demonstrates excellence by promoting quality processes maintains a positive outlook and strives for continuing quality improvement.

Personnel Management:

Coaches, mentors and develops direct and indirect reports.

Ensures adequate staffing levels within defined budgetary and productivity limits.

Maintains implements, adheres to and enforces departmental operating policies and procedures for all programs including: quality control, quality assurance, patient experience and life safety.

Collaborates with the Human Resource Department to assure fair and equitable hiring, performance management and termination activities.

Provides leadership, guidance and direction during staff interview and hiring processes.

Provides leadership, guidance and direction during staff disciplinary processes

Strategic Planning:

Assists the Director with identifying and developing departmental goals and objectives that support and reinforce the mission and vision of our clients practice.

Assists the Director in project development and prioritization that ensures support of the established Strategic Plan.

Financial Management:

Assists the Director in the development of department budgets.

Monitors department expense and leads cost containment and reduction activities.

Provides appropriate analytics to justify new services, maintain competitive advantage and customer retention.

Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate well.

Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):

Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's Degree preferred.

LEAN, process improvement experience preferred.

Must meet CLIA regulations for technical supervisor.

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):

3 years of relevant laboratory experience in a clinical setting required.

3-5 years directly managing Laboratory Histology operations strongly preferred.

3 or more years of demonstrated supervisory level experience strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

This role offers a salary of $65,000 “ $85,000 as well as comprehensive benefits including 20 days of annual PTO and paid holidays!
