Position Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Leader is responsible for packing and scanning of items for shipment, loading and unloading of trucks, verifying the contents of received packages and providing guidance to personnel working in the area of responsibility. Additionally, responsible for training personnel, reviewing invoices, and implementing security and safety programs. Due to exposure to confidential/sensitive Company information, this position is classified as non-union.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
-Perform all functions associated with loading/off loading product.
-Provide leadership to ensure that the mission, ethical values, and core guiding principles of the Company are put into practice.
-Performs work in a safe & healthful manner and timely manner. -Excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing to all levels of management & labor both internal and external to the company.
-Starting time (5:00 am - 5:30 am) to load trucks prior to driver’s arrival.
-Determines driver’s routes to promote timely and efficient deliveries.
-Work with drivers to ensure production schedule coincides with customer delivers without waiting for product to be loaded on truck.
-Ensure the highest standards are met for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points and Safe Quality Food programs.
- Arrange and maintain freezers and allocate product locations in the freezers to improve inventory management and procurement for customer orders.
-Keep all inventory from possible hazards from any product recalls due to storage and shipping. -Keep inventory on a First-In, First Out basis (F.I.F.O.).
-As directed by higher authority, conducts routine, accurate physical inventory.
-Maintains accurate documentation throughout area of responsibility to include but not limited to shipping/receiving and temperature controls.

-Promote communications on any storage and or facility issues that management must be aware.
-Provide guidance and assist in the development of company policy and procedures.
-Provide oversight and guidance for employee injury prevention program.
-Perform other duties as assigned by higher authority.
Controls Over The Position:
The Shipping and Receiving Leader reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Qualifications and Competencies:
-High School diploma or equivalent.
-3 to 5 years of shipping and receiving experience in the food service industry.
-Experience in inventory control management.
-Experience with hand held scanners ensuring all products have labels and have been scanned for accurate invoicing.
-Proven experience and certification required for use of a forklift truck and Hi-Lo Truck required. However, certification may be obtained on the job
-Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English and Spanish
-Proven experience and knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points and Safe Quality Food programs.
-Proven record of accomplishment of successful experience in a similar size and scope organization.
-Must be able to perform an unassisted lift of 65 lbs.
-Must be legal to work in the United States and successfully pass a background check.
-Must possess a valid driver’s license.
