Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Superintendent / Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of two commercial buildings located in Passaic and Clifton, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry, along with a proactive attitude toward preventative maintenance and tenant satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repairs in commercial buildings (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.)
Conduct regular inspections of both properties and address any maintenance needs
Respond promptly to emergency repair requests (must be on-call for emergencies)
Coordinate and oversee work by outside contractors when necessary
Ensure building systems are operating efficiently and safely
Maintain building cleanliness, safety, and code compliance
Keep detailed records of work performed and supplies used
Requirements:
Proven experience in property maintenance, with skills in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
Must have reliable transportation to travel between Passaic and Clifton locations
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Must be available to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in related field
Lives in North Jersey
Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience. Gas allowance.
