We are seeking a friendly, creative, and enthusiastic Studio Assistant to join our busy pottery studio. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of clay handbuilding experience, proficiency in a POS system (Square preferred), and a passion for clay that they can share with artists and visitors. This position requires a self-directed, logical, and problem-solving individual who can handle busy moments with ease. The role is ideal for someone looking for a long-term commitment.
Multiple locations 15-25 hours avail plus event opportunities. Locations in Madison and Montclair
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
POS Management: Handle transactions efficiently using our POS system (Square preferred).
Studio Assistance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized studio environment.
Clay Handbuilding: Utilize at least one year of experience in clay handbuilding to assist and guide studio members.
Promotion: Share your passion for clay, inspiring and engaging with artists and potential members.
Weekend Availability: Must be available to work weekends and manage peak hours effectively.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve issues promptly and logically.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with instructors, technicians, and other staff to ensure smooth studio operations.
Physical Work: Must be able to easily lift 50lbs of clay often.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of clay handbuilding experience.
Proficiency in POS systems (Square preferred, but similar systems acceptable).
Friendly, creative, and enthusiastic personality.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to handle busy moments with composure and efficiency.
Self-directed and capable of independent work.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Must be 20 years old or older.
