Job Summary
We are a steel fabrication company specializing in small batch, short run custom products in need of a general shop assistant.
Duties will include:
General shop and equipment cleaning
Organizing stock materials
Basic exterior lot/yard maintenance
Assist with loading and unloading trucks (forklift certification helpful but we would certify the right candidate)
Learning basics of steel fabrication such as sawing, shearing, drilling/tapping and safe material handling
Work alongside craftsmen assisting with their specific duties including brake operators, welders/fabricators, polishers and mechanics
Utilize hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to achieve precise measurements.
Basic qualifications
Experience in manufacturing environments is helpful
Willingness to learn
Familiarity with mechanical concepts and basic math skills
