Well established expedited trucking company based in Fairfield, NJ currently operating over 100 trucks and employing over 180 OTR and local drivers is looking for an assistant in our Safety Department.

§ Have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Trucking / Transportation Safety.
§ Motivated individual who can excel in this position and is willing to learn.
§ Must be able to communicate efficiently with our Operations and Accounting Department as well as drivers in a professional and clear manner.
§ Must have experience and a clear understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations as well as ELD, HOS regulations, annual inspections, and HUT/IFTA decal requirements.
§ Must be proficient in Excel.
§ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
§ Advanced command of English is required. Bi-lingual a big plus.
Responsibilities:
§ Recruiting: initial contact with drivers, applications and documentation, onboarding, and follow up.
§ DQF: set up and maintenance.
§ Compensation: trip report processing and excel reporting.
§ HOS review and advise on driver violations per FMCSA requirements.
§ Plan and assist with Driver Training Sessions for safety matters and accident prevention.
§ Register, monitor and collaborate closely with the Accounting Department on Accident and Incident investigation.
§ Assist with representation in the event of an audit by FMCSA.
Starting salary: $20 per hour. Increases possible based on meeting above requirements, recruiting and safety goals, and dependent on experience and performance.
