Senior Sales Associate Needed for Automotive Motorsports Parts Store

About the Position
We are looking for a bright, motivated individual for a full-time position at our main retail store location in Garfield, NJ. We will also consider a part-time position for the right candidate with potential to become full-time. You must be confident and well-spoken with strong multi-tasking skills, and capable of being highly productive with limited oversight. Experience working in Retail/Wholesale Sales, Customer Service, Product Distribution, Inventory Management, plus strong knowledge of Automotive Parts and Engineering is strongly preferred.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Your primary role will be to become familiar with our products, drive sales using effective communication, assist with day-to-day business operations, and provide exceptional service and support to our customers. This includes:
Greeting walk-in customers, answering inbound phone calls and responding to customer emails.
Providing expert guidance to help customers make correct purchasing decisions.
Keeping our product database up-to-date with accurate pricing, quantities and descriptions.
Assisting with inventory ordering, stocking, shipping and receiving.
Retrieving products from our warehouse for both our mechanical shop technicians and in-store customers.
Maintaining a clean and orderly environment at our retail store and warehouse locations.
Attending various motorsport racing venues where we have on-site seasonal sales events.
Qualifications
All applicants should meet the following requirements to be eligible for consideration:
At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
High school diploma (equivalent or higher).
Fluent in English with excellent communication skills. Bi-lingual a plus but not required.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or any combination of education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of the position outlined above.
Ideal candidates should also exhibit some of the following characteristics (preferred but not required):
A passion for motorsports with strong knowledge of performance automotive engineering.
Strong familiarity with sports car makes and models, specifically Porsche and BMW.
Prior connection to the motorsports community as a driver, mechanic or enthusiast.
CDL driver's license, medium size truck and/or car trailer towing experience.
Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, Photoshop and SQL database systems. Basic understanding of web development languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP.net).
Basic understanding of supply chain and inventory management.
NOTE: This is a physically demanding position. You may be required to move throughout the warehouse shelving units, reaching and climbing to obtain parts from inventory containers. May have to remain standing for a number of hours at the customer counter or in the store/showroom. Must be able to lift moderately heavy objects and be comfortable climbing stairs. When delivering parts to service technicians, you may be exposed to noise, dust and exhaust fumes.
