Established (+45 years) HVAC Installation and Service company looking for an experienced HVACR Mechanic or plumber. We are a fast-growing HVAC company serving all of New Jersey. We are looking for candidates that are dependable, ambitious, and hard-working. Must have experience with residential and light commercial.
Required Skills and Experience
License holders preferred (HVAC or plumbing) but not required
At least 8+ years of mechanical or plumbing experience with residential and light commercial projects. We are specifically seeking a candidate who has experience installing, repairing, maintaining and troubleshooting boilers and hot water heaters
Excellent mechanical knowledge and understanding of all types of HVAC and/or boilers and hot water heaters
Great mechanical skills and ability to use manual and electrical tools and equipment applicable to the HVAC systems
Braising and soldering skills
Skilled in diagnosing, using testing devices and repairing HVAC systems
Computer tablet experience and basic record-keeping techniques
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and follow and understand oral and written instructions
Ability to work cooperatively with others, work independently with little direction and meet schedules and deadlines
Ability to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions
Ability to climb ladders and endure climbing, kneeling, balancing, bending, walking, squatting, crawling and prolonged standing and sitting. Must be physically able to lift 50+ pounds.
Responsibilities
Inspect, repair, modify, maintain and install HVAC systems, boilers, and water heaters
Perform field service and regular preventative maintenance on HVAC systems
Braze and solder pipes to repair or install components
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems
Perform electrical maintenance work in the repair, installation and alteration of HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors and wiring systems as needed; connect motors to control panels.
Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely repairs
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Education/License/Certification
-Valid driver’s license with good driving record
-Universal EPA 608 certification
-Degree from HVAC/Plumbing technical institute or school preferred but not required
