Coordinates and oversees the operational and maintenance tasks for the Operating Company's (OpCo) truck fleet. Acts as a team player within the department and organization, carrying out any assigned duties to effectively support the company.
The Fleet Manager position will perform the following duties:
Supervises the operations of the mechanic shop to ensure all mechanical maintenance and repairs are executed correctly and in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates activities, programs, and operations, establishing priorities accordingly.
Conducts ongoing utilization studies and fleet condition evaluations, providing recommendations on fleet size, composition, and replacement criteria.
Ensures compliance with all safety regulations.
Provides management, mentorship, and leadership to team members, ensuring their performance aligns with applicable laws and company policies.
Maintains all equipment in optimal working condition.
Performs diagnostics, rebuilds, and repairs on trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
Oversees inspections and preventive maintenance procedures.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports.
Upholds cleanliness standards in the shop.
Cultivates interpersonal relationships fostering openness, candor, and trust, both internally and externally.
Undertakes additional responsibilities as delegated.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Diesel Technology certificate
4 to 6 years of experience
Experience in fleet equipment maintenance and leading teams, or Supervisory experience with knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Management or related field.
Preferred Experience:
6 to 10 years of experience
Experience in fleet equipment maintenance and supervision, with knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, particularly within the food service industry.
