Job - Scenic Carpenter for Event Production Company
Location – Union City, NY
We are seeking carpenters for in-shop scenic carpentry work and on-site event installations. Our company focuses on special event fabrication and scenic installation for corporate events
This is a part-time/contract position with the possibility of becoming full-time.
Our shop is in Union City, NJ and the installations will take place in Manhattan and throughout the New York Metropolitan area.
Open availability and flexibility are highly preferred. Must be open to work nights and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interpret and trouble shoot technical drawings with the management team.
Acts as an installer on the job site
Work to maintain quality standards during the installation process.
Duties include but are not limited to measuring, cutting/use of power tools, jobsite setup/clean-up, manual labor
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be experienced with hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery
Able to lift up to 75 pounds
Must be able to follow directions, plans, blueprints, and sketches.
Must be able to accommodate flexible schedule. Work at night or on the weekend is possible.
Work independently as well as part of a team
Strong professional communication skills
Must detail orientated and be able to meet deadlines.
EXPERIENCE
2-5 years of carpentry and/or on-site installation experience
