Hood Brothers Landscaping are seeking skilled and reliable Snow Plow Operators to join our team for the upcoming winter season. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating snow removal equipment, including snow plows, salt spreaders, and other machinery to ensure safe and clear roadways, parking lots, and other designated areas. This role is essential to maintaining the safety and accessibility of public and private properties during winter weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Snow Removal: Operate snow plows, loaders, and other equipment to remove snow from roads, driveways, parking lots, and other areas as assigned.
Ice Control: Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials to roadways and walkways to prevent and manage ice accumulation.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on snow removal equipment, including refueling, checking fluid levels, and ensuring machinery is in good working order before and after each use.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure safe operation of equipment and protection of yourself and others in the work area.
Communication: Coordinate with dispatch and supervisors to receive assignments and update them on job status and any issues encountered.
Qualifications:
-Experience: Previous experience operating snow plows or similar heavy equipment is preferred.
License: Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred.
Availability: Must be available to work on-call, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed during snow events.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting for extended periods, and working in cold weather conditions.
Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
