Downes Tree Service is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tree Climber to join our team. The Tree Climber is responsible for performing tree care tasks including climbing, pruning, removal, and other tree maintenance duties. This role requires physical fitness, knowledge of tree care practices, and the ability to work safely at heights.
Responsibilities:
Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing gear
Prune or remove trees and branches to maintain safety, health and appearance
Operate Chainsaws, handsaws, pole saws, and other equipment
Assess tree health and report concerns such as disease or structural weakness
Clean up debris and maintain a safe work area
Follow proper safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
Work with a team to complete jobs efficiently and safely
Qualifications:
Prior experience in tree climbing an arboriculture preferred
Knowledge of proper pruning techniques and tree identification is a plus
Ability to operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment
Physical strength, stamina, and comfort working at heights
Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
Commitment to safety and teamwork
Arborist certification - ISA and/or ACRT, both is a plus
Work Environment:
Outdoor work in various weather conditions
Physically demanding and includes climbing, lifting, and use of power tools
Looking for at least 5 years of experience.
Pay based on experience.
